J&A Fence has been installing commercial fencing across Chester County and surrounding areas since 2012. We’re family-owned, PA-licensed (#PA096517), and owner-involved on every project. Our Master Installer has over 25 years of construction experience — and that experience shows up in how the work holds up after the first Pennsylvania winter.

Do commercial fence projects require a permit in Chester County?

In most Chester County townships, yes — though the threshold varies. West Goshen Township requires a zoning permit for every fence, regardless of height, per Ordinance 12-2024. East Bradford Township requires a permit only for fences over 6 feet. West Chester Borough may require conditional use approval for commercial fences over 6 feet in height. Permit requirements in Delaware — where we also work — differ from those in Pennsylvania. We advise on what applies to your specific property during the estimate process. For a broader overview, see our Fence Permit Requirements page.

How much does commercial fencing cost in Chester County?
What gauge chain link is standard for commercial use?

9-gauge galvanized is the standard for most commercial perimeters — parking areas, storage yards, and light-security applications. For higher-security industrial sites, 6-gauge is typical; it uses heavier wire and requires heavier posts. Post diameter, embedment depth, and top rail diameter all increase with fence height and security rating. We specify gauge based on the use case, not a blanket default.

How long does a commercial fence installation take?

A straightforward 300–500-foot chain link perimeter on a cleared, accessible site typically takes 2–4 days. Larger projects — staged site access, heavier gauge material, multiple gate openings, or significant terrain variation — run longer. We provide a timeline estimate with each written quote.

Does J&A Fence serve commercial properties in Delaware?

Yes. We install commercial fencing in New Castle County, Delaware — including Wilmington, Newark, Hockessin, and New Castle. Delaware permit requirements differ from those in Pennsylvania by township and municipality. We account for both during the estimate.

What warranty applies to commercial fence installations?

J&A Fence backs all installations — commercial and residential — with a 5-year workmanship warranty. This covers defects in installation: post movement, picket or panel separation, and gate misalignment. It excludes damage caused by impact, flooding, or failure to perform recommended annual maintenance. Material warranties are separate and depend on the manufacturer.

How do I submit blueprints or an RFP for a commercial bid?

Email plans directly to office@jafence.com. We review the scope and follow up to schedule a site visit before issuing a formal quote.
